Stowe Vermont is one of America's first and finest winter resorts and America's most welcoming mountain village.
Stowe's tradition of warm hospitality established over 60 years ago lives on the faces of the people you meet on the town's streets, in cozy inns, fun filled night spots and on the slopes.
Here you'll discover a winter resort that has managed to hold onto a treasured way of life while still offering visitors skiing and recreation experiences that rival the best.

Stowe in the winter is a very special place. Folks who love an active winter in beautiful surroundings discovered this area many years ago. The combination of a great mountain, an authentic village atmosphere and friendly people has kept them coming back ever since. Here you will meet skiers and snow boarders from all over the world including England and Europe and South America as well as our neighbors to the North.

The Octagon Web Cafe perched near the top of Mount Mansfield offers computer terminals and web connections that allow you to send a postcard and email to the folks back home.

"An average of 22' of Snow falls per year on Vermont's tallest peak."
Seemingly created for the enjoyment of enthusiasts, Mount Mansfield at 4,395', is Vermont's highest peak and boasts some of the finest ski terrain east of the Rockies. That's why skiing pioneers chose Stowe as one of the continent's first winter resorts and it is why Stowe has remained a world-class winter destination. Stowe offers trails for every level of skier or rider.
